Each of these magnificent animals has a unique story and is at various stages of training, health, and readiness. From spirited Mustangs to gentle geldings and mares, our horses are lovingly cared for and trained by dedicated professionals. Zeus

Zeus is a Devil's Garden Mustang gelding born in 2020. He stands 14.2 hands tall and is registered with NAMAR. Zeus received saddle training in 2023 and is receiving a refresher as of March 2025, is up-to-date on all vaccines, and loads easily.

Spartacus

Spartacus was born around 2020 and is a gelding hinny (mix between a male horse and female donkey). He stands 12 hands tall. Spartacus can be dominant but does well in a strong herd.

Loco

Loco is a 15 Mile Mustang gelding born between 2009-2011. He is 15 hands tall. Loco easily halters, leads, picks up his feet, and loads on a trailer. He has a good start under saddle and can be ridden independently.

Penny

Penny is a Devil's Garden Mustang mare who was born in 2009. Penny stands 14.2 hands tall. She halters and starting to lead making her an ideal "pasture pet." Penny is an absolute pleasure to work with.

Ava

Ava is a thoroughbred born in 2023. She stands 15 hands tall. Ava had a previous back pastern injury which seems to have healed.

Isaac

Isaac is a Paint gelding born in 2006. He stands 15 hands tall. Isaac and Gracey are siblings.

Hope

Hope is a Devil's Garden Mustang mare born around 2022. In March 2025, Hope received handling/gentling training.

Pixie

Pixie is a beautiful Kiger Mustang born around 2003. This gentle girl is looking for the perfect home where she can peacefully enjoy the rest of her life as a much-loved "pasture pet."

Cinnamon

Cinnamon's age is unknown, and she stands stands 14.1 hands tall. She is an untrained Mustang rescued from the Sugar Creek Auction. Cinnamon raised her baby, Blaze, who has gone on to find her own forever home. Cinnamon has incredible potential for adopters who are ready to put in the effort and build that special training bond.

Scarlett

Scarlett's age is unknown, and she stands stands 13.2 hands tall. She was rescued from the Sugar Creek Auction. Scarlett raised her baby, Amelia, who has gone on to find her own forever home. As of April 2025, Scarlett is receiving training to finish gentling and will start saddle training. Scarlett enjoys her work sessions and has great potential for adopters who are ready to build that special bond.

Sienna

Sienna's age is unknown, and she stands stands 14.2 hands tall. She is an untrained Mustang rescued from the Sugar Creek Auction. Sienna raised her baby, Charlie, who has gone on to find his own forever home. Sienna has incredible potential for adopters who are ready to put in the effort and build that special training bond.

Gypsy

Gypsy is a Devil's Garden Mustang born in 2016. She’s untrained but has a sweet and gentle nature.

Long-Term Residents

These special horses have found their forever home here at Mending Hope Equine Rescue. While some of these horses are not available for adoption due to age, medical conditions, or other circumstances, they are all cherished members of our herd. Some will simply enjoy a peaceful retirement, while others will participate in public events such as Horses & Heroes and Healing Hooves, helping to inspire and connect with our community. Each horse has a unique story, and we are honored to provide them with a safe, loving home for life.

Roamer

Roamer is a Devil's Garden Mustang born around 2000. In February 2025, he was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease, a condition that requires ongoing care and management. Due to his diagnosis, Roamer will remain at the rescue as a cherished long-term resident, where he will continue to receive the love, care, and comfort he deserves for the rest of his days.

Spirit

Spirit is a beautiful Mustang who is still learning to trust humans. While she is not currently available for adoption, she is slowly beginning to show interest in us — watching closely as the other horses receive love and attention. We are giving Spirit all the time and space she needs to feel safe and comfortable.

Stanley

Stanley is a mini-horse born around 2020. Now a beloved member of our herd, Stanley plays an important role in our community outreach programs, Horses & Heroes and Healing Hooves, where he helps bring joy, comfort, and connection to those who need it most.
